A do-it-yourself project, these DIY tires will winter proof your bicycle so that you can ride safely around the city. Devised by Fritz Rice of the Dutch Bike Co., these zip tie snow tires use zip ties all around both the front and back tires. According to Rice, “The zip ties dig nicely into the hardest packed surfaces, but they’re thin enough not to bounce the bike around at low speed or on short pavement sections.”
