New BMW M5 concept revealed

The new BMW M5 super-salooon was unveiled to select journalists in Germany over the weekend
The BMW M5 concept features a deep front bumper, wider front wings, chrome-rimmed air vents and LED repeater lamps. Other details include M-specific 20-inch alloys and M-specific lowered suspension. At the rear, the concept sports a lip spoiler and a re-profiled bumper with central diffuser to enhance downforce levels. Power comes from BMW's 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine, with output estimated at around 560hp, transferred to the rear wheels via a seven-speed double-clutch gearbox. Compared with the fourth generation M5, the newly developed engine has a "significantly increased output level" according to the firm. A start-stop system has been introduced to lower fuel consumption and emission levels by "at least 25 per cent" over the outgoing model. Four driving modes can be chosen and include Comfort, Sport, and Sport-Plus as well as M Driving mode.
